Question by Mama Brock: Is New Zealand the only place where they would shorten the school term for rugby?
Some info from the Ministry of Education website:
“Differences for 2011
•The usual length of each school term has been adjusted for 2011. Terms 1 and 2 are slightly longer than usual, and Term 4 is two weeks shorter. This adjustment has been made to align the October term holiday with the final stages of the 2011 Rugby World Cup tournament.”

Personally as a high-school student doing NCEA, I treasure every day that I can during the final term at school that I can use to prepare for exams, and I think cutting off two weeks is really pushing it, considering our term 4 was not very long to begin with.

If you are also at school in New Zealand, how do you think this cut will effect you?
